Two Thumbs Down for the new Potter Movie Part 1

To begin with, I will not go into an in dept critique into this topic for tat will take forever and I'm saving that time to do these essay's of which we have been assigned. Secondly, I will just bullet point my issues with the movie as to save time of which I am Highly lacking today. Note that the movie did had its good parts and I am not entirely disappointed with its performance.

                                                                             Dislikes
  • My first and main issue with the movie is that THEY SHORTENED EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do believe that in the last book every detail was relevent to the plot and the producers just chopped everything up and distributed it among the plot in random orders of 3's. To be honest, this I would say basically summerizes my disappointment and should bring this topic to a complete hault but I do feel like going into a bit of detail as to what I was sorely pissirritated with.
  • They fucked everything up in the beginning, even though I must admit snape looked like a bad ass all flying through the air and shit and walking through the gate...it was not supposed to be him alone. When they were at the Malfoys the lady was not turning overhead but was merely just floating there...and the camera's did not concentrate on Draco's discomfort in the least. And since were's on the topic of the Mannor..what the hell was up with the Albino Peacock....that would of been a hella funny animal to see in the movie as Rowling did mention it in the book. And what the hell is up with Belatrix.....she fails hardcore in acting her scene's out..she was right there when they brought Harry which was not suposed to happen and..idk man just fail.
  • Harry's acting.....kind of off because it was more childish and what it appeared to be in the book. Ron became a linebacker out of nowhere...Hermaione acting was on point though..
  • DANCING SCENE!!!!!!!!!!!!! wtf man......why didn't Harry and Hermaione made out after that....seriously....that was messed up....though I do understand why the dance scene was added in there..still ....it just didnt work.
  • Most of the Patronoses that were supposed to have shape...had none.
  • But seriously ..scenes that were supposed to be there were never seen.
  • They treated Kreacher bad..which they werent supposed to...Creatures tale was never told.
  • No invisibility cloak in sight
  • Cafe scene sucked!
  • Harry hardly disguises himself....
                                                                         Likes
  • They did do that Dobby Dieing scene pretty damn well......But...after that, the whole burial of Dobby was supposed to be this epic emotional thing but...nothing....
  • Tale of the 3 brothers was good too.

Progress

"Reasonable people adapt to the world. Unreasonable people persist in trying to adapt the world to themselves. Therefore, all progress depends on unreasonable people." --George Bernard Shaw

Indeed most  of us are too busy in our aim for magnificance and wealth that we tend to forget the path of which we are setting for our spawns. Share with me your thoughts on the topic...

AVATAR

Set in the year 2154, it involves a mission by U. S. Armed Forces to the earth-sized moon orbiting around a huge star. This world called Pandora, is a rich source of a mineral Earth desperately needs. Pandora hosts a planetary forest inhabited peacefully by the Na'vi, a blue-skinned, golden-eyed race of slender giants maybe 12 feet tall each. The air not breathable by humans, and the landscape makes us look tiny. To venture we use avatars -Na'vi lookalikes grown organically and mind-controlled by humans who remain wired up in a trance-like state on the ship. The Na'vi live on the planet by knowing it well, living in harmony with nature, and being wise about the creatures they share with. In this and countless other ways they parallel Native Americans.<-- This is probably one of the main reasons I respect this movie which I will elaborate on later. James Cameron is one man who knows how to spend almost $300 million wisely. "Avatar is not simply a sensational entertainment, although it is that, it's a technical breakthrough" says the famous critique named Roberd Ebert who works for Chicago Sun-Times. I full heartedly agree with this man due to the vast immense application of special effects making each Na'vi interact with with its environment so epically and  making them look sexy in a way with the blue skin and the golden eyes-this must be due to the characteristics of the human body which they parallel in the movie- because we wouldn't say that a blob is sexy am I right? Though the movie was about 163 minutes, it did not feel too long due to all the exciting character and plot developments throughout the movie. Throughout the entire movie I was thinking of how much the movie, I couldn't help but notice how it promoted being Green with all the interraction of wildlife and the plants which are so amazing, like for example; The trait that the entire planet is intertwined and communicates with the wildlife and the natives by the links which the roots of the great forest to which in my opinion and is referenced in the movie paralleled to the Human Nervous System. Ever since watching this movie I kept thinking "Pocahontas" and the message which all these movie's share is that you "respect nature and it shall respect and sustain you, mistreat it and it shall abandon you". And ever since, I have been fascinated by the inner workings of plants and humans, influenced my choice in a Biology major, in hopes that one day, maybe, I can dublicate the fictional inner workings of these plants on Pandora or make a super plant that absorbs alot of CO2 while releasing alot of O2's, not saying im a hard core environmentalist or anything but just for the purpose of progressing science- when in fact there are scientists today currently working on my ideals- who knows maybe it might just happen. There you have it, hats off to this movie....it was truely amazing.
P.S.
Those Floating mountains are awesome! If only earth had that kind of Geological Phenomena!

Presentation Review

             Dumbledore
In alot movies which contain some kind of "syfi" or "fantisy adventure " theme, you always see one of the most powerful people in the story to be portrayed as a 1000 year old dude with long white hair, who is seemingly wise beyond belief, has had many experiences with the unknown and could probably be a one man army.
Throughout the first six series of of the story that is "Harry Potter", this was my impression when it came to  Dumbledore was. I was impressed because he was the kind of person you should look up too as a role model in the wizarding society. After finishing the final book of J.K. Rowling's I must say that the crafty old guy was selfish. Though, I can say that there are some heavy emotional reasons for his acts of selfishness; numero uno!- Someone of a group of people kills your family member whom you dearly love, would that not give you reason to dispise the lot of them? Would not you want to see this lost family member again? Would not you want to protect the rest of the world from these kind of people? is it logical to sacrifice one innocent life for many innocent lives?...etc.
In a way, all these acts are selfish sure but you can agree that the series was one hell of a Wizarding Chess game expertly played by Dumbledore and Voldemort. Considering Harry including his crew and the Death Eaters are  Pieces on opposite ends of the board.
There you have it, I favor the Egoism with Dumbledore Presentation......wonder why no one did a presentation on Snape and Egoism....the last book dive into his backstory which was an interesting piece.

Highlights

To begin with, the event which we were assigned to attend at Broward College's south campus with that artist went quite better than I had expected, I especially liked the part where we could eat as many sandwitch's, cookies, (and all the other items I currently can not remember) as we wished at the end.
On another note, I have finally finished reading the Potter book...well, a couple weeks ago I had finished actually and I must say that I am looking forward to our discussions and watching the movie when it's released. This final book really made the entire series look like puzzle pieces being layed out to an end resulting photograph of __________________.

The Silver Doe

Silver-White Doe, moon-bright and dazzling

"Are - you - mental?"

"Second best, always, eternally overshadowed...."

FTW Ron!!!!I was expecting a warm welcome back at the tent...I could not have been more wrong. LMAO at Hermione's reaction.
This is a scene which I think was really cool...hopefully you guys are at this point in the book. I was literally like...."Holy *$%@# Ron!!" And I'm not even that big of a fan when it somes to the book.....still this scene revealed alot about Ron. Hermione's and Ron's relationshop is a puzzle in an of itself.
